Several centuries ago, if you wanted to cross the Grand Canal, the only way was a wooden bridge that stood here.
Now there are other 3 possibilities.
The Rialto Bridge is by Antonio da Ponte, which was finished in the early 1590.
Many travelers enjoy the pleasure of a picture of the Grand Canal from the Rialto Bridge, while others enjoy shopping at stores that are on both sides.
Still others enjoy its glory sitting on the many restaurants that overlook the Grand canal near it.
